A new museum to showcase 7000 years of Egyptian history

About the experience

Egypt lovers rejoice for you will soon have one definitive place to visit by early 2018.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is set to open the ancient history of Egypt over the past 7000 years. Located just 2 km from the the Giza Pyramids, the new museum will pay homage to eternal Ancient Egyptian monuments, treasures, and history hosting over 100,000 artifacts, about 3500 of which belong to the famous King Tutankhamen.

Around 30,000 artifacts that will be on display in the new museum have never been seen by the public before and include many of King Tut’s garments. The king’s tomb, discovered in 1922, will also recreated to give visitors a look into the life of the Golden King.

The Grand Egyptian Museum will also have parks and gardens to reflect life back in the heydays of the Pharaohs. The ‘Land of Egypt’ park will display the botanical species of ancient Egypt demonstrating the processes and cycles of cultivation and its important relationship with the River Nile. The ‘Nile Park’ is to be reflective of the River Nile, the life-giving vein which in ancient Egypt created the opportunity to cultivate the land. The ‘Temple Garden’ will be a thematic collection of gardens, designed with reference to tomb and temple gardens in ancient Egypt.
