Going to Iceland to catch the northern lights? Why not add swimming to the to-do list? It\u2019s as Icelandic as it gets, for bathing outside in naturally heated water is part of Icelandic life.<\/p>

Start at Hveragerdi, just 42km from the capital, Reykjavik. The thermal bath here is Laugaskar, open through the year, and renowned for its lovely setting as well as excellent facilities. The pool is heated with steam coming directly from the ground and considered to be good for your health.<\/p>

About 150km from Reykjavik is Seljavallalaug. The open air, geothermal pool is a 30 odd minute walk from the road and located next to a river. With a snow-capped glacier beyond, it is easily one of the most stunningly located swimming pools\u00a0 on Earth.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
